EDUCATION AND RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
 Guanghui Wang was born in 1964 in Shanghai, China. From 1981 to 1990 he studied in Shanghai Medical University, Shanghai, China. He received his Bachelor of Medicine degree in 1987 and Master degree in 1990. From 1995 to 2001 he studied in School of Medicine, University of Tokyo, Japan, and received his PhD degree in 2001. Between 2001 and 2003 he was a postdoctoral fellow at School of Medicine, University of Iowa, working on neurodegenerative diseases. He joined School of Life Sciences, USTC as a full professor in September, 2003.
 
RESEARCH INTERESTS
1) The signaling pathway in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases;
2) The role of modifications of the proteins in neurodegenerative diseases;
3) The molecular mechanisms of the accumulation of mutant proteins in neurodegenerative diseases;
4) The screening of the mediators in neurodegeneration caused by mutant proteins.

2) “Effects of phosphorylation of ataxin-3 on its toxicity and property”, supported by Fund of the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC). (2008-2010).
3) “The molecular mechanisms of the disorder of ubiquitin-proteasomal system induced by mutant ataxin-3”, supported by Fund of the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC). (2005-2007).
